Press Nights on the Acorn, early morning practices of the Band, and afternoon play rehearsals produce laughter in the halls and smiles on many faces. Through the rush of a last minute story and the momentary tragedy of a broken reed, high spirit pre- vails. Then amid the confusion of forgotten dance steps and misplaced music, the All School Show per- formers strive for perfection. Final- ly, as May Day approaches, the par- ticipants limber up for the day when they will lead their team on to victory . . . Activities set the pace . . . . . . ( JISl J ews . . Thin, reedy sounds of turning pages and exclama' tions of surprise coming from news-hungry Upidites announced the weekly arrival of The Acorn. CD's most widely circulated publication. H.ird work and inspired writing produced this concise, yet complete, seven-day record of school and community events. Each Monday and Tuesday, students found room 210 in a merry-go-round of writing, rewriting, proofreading, and typing, as staff members hurried to meet their deadline.
