A thrilling new spirit rooted in the completion and dedication of the new buildings surged through Upper Darby students this year. The gymnasium, one of the finest in Pennsylvania, was host to pep rallies, visiting athletic teams, and the Christmas concert. The academic wing, housing the science, commercial, and home economics departments saw real service as students tested its facilities. Both structures herald the interest and foresight of Upper Darby Township.

. . . Of the Town Music, the universal language, is the theme of the 195,' Oak. We have chosen music because it is so typical of Upper Darby. One cannot walk through the building without hearing the familiar strains of a current tune, a school song, or a melody which has remained popular through the years. As you enjoy the pages of this yearbook, you will under- stand why we feel that music, the unifying force of this book, is also a unifying force of school life.
