jilted £ e ctcuf many,,, Upper Darby is proud of these six stu- dents who have distinguished themselves by achieving highest scholastic honors in the class of 1952. They have not only proved their scholastic ability for three years but also have given much of their time and serv- ice to school activities. Because of their consistent effort, they have attained the Scholarship Award, which entitles them to have their name engraved upon the Scholar- ship Plaque. The top six in scholarship in the Class of 1952, pictured below in the order of their final standings, are Lavonne Olson, Elizabeth Eller, Geraldine Fenner, Lesley Tarleton, Paul Strenge, and Lois Parry.

 4 c Miwtcttcc eo %ctiwatect activities... With the goal of boosting school spirit the Senior Executive Committee, under President Parke Hess, met every Monday morning. The class advisers and the seven- teen members discussed class problems and planned for the party, play, and dance. They sent cards and flowers to students and teachers when they were ill and on Memorial Day they placed wreaths on the graves of teachers who had died. The committee, with Bob Abbott, also arranged our assem- bly programs. • • • The class of 1952 honors the six members who in the eyes of their classmates have con- tributed most during their three years in Upper Darby High School to the school's success in athletics, student government, dramatics, publications, class activities, clubs, and musical organizations. Loyalty and devotion to Upper Darby have won for them the admiration of their classmates and the honor of having their names inscribed upon the Service Plaque in the front hall. The service winners, pictured above, are Parke Hess, President of the Senior Class; Rowland Hutchinson, President of Boys' Hi- Y; Robert Greene, ACORN Features Edi- tor; Elizabeth Eller, President of Girls’ Hi-Y; Lavonne Olson, OAK Editor-in-Chief; and Geraldine Fenner, Publications Business Manager. 29
