Ag C' ' Six miles from Philadelphia's City Hall is a progressive and fast ex- panding business section known as Sixty-Ninth Street. Around this core covering an area of 7M square miles, is the township of Upper Darby. In this community are about 75,000 people, brought within easy reach of Philadelphia and outlying residential sections by an extensive trans- portation network. Upper Darby has seen an almost phenomenal growth in population within the last ten years, and day by day new measures are being taken to provide for this increase. The well-known Hi-Top Country Club was converted into a colony of duplex apartments in the fall of this year. Week by week lots are dis- appearing to make way for construction work. Plans are being prepared for a new high school, as well as for several new grade schools. The Sixty- Ninth Street business section is expanding, too, and now extends up Long Lane. Throughout Upper Darby and the surrounding vicinities new settle- ments are cropping up-proof of progress in an ever-progressive world. JLLCTI
