It OAK D O F EDUCATION Credit is due to the members of the Upper Darby School Board for the part which they have played in enabling the schools of this district to run smoothly. This year, four new candidates were welcomed to the Board: Mrs. Lena M. Adelizzi, Dr. Edgar B. Cale, Mr. John C. Parry, and Mrs. Marion M. Sweeney. Members of longer standing include Dr. George G. Dilworth, President, Mr. John H. Frazier, Vice-President, Mr. Vanleer I. Bond, Dr. J. Vernon Ellson, and Mr. W. Harry Schaffer. In addition, many years of faithful service have been given by Mr. John J. Schiedel, Secretary, Mr. Stewart B. Harkness, Treasurer, Mr. R. Winfield Baile, Solicitor, and Mr. John H. Tyson, Superintendent. The paramount problem on the Board's agenda this year was that of expanding our school system. In order to cope with the increase in population, it will be necessary for Upper Darby to build new schools and to secure new educational facilities. We are proud of our School Board that has worked faith- fully and wisely in behalf of Upper Darby's students.
