IleJiciitittn J N THE armed forces are a number of our classmates of 1945 who arc de- fending the American Way of Living,— classmates with whom we played football, ate lunch, gobbled malteds, or perhaps cut study. Although their departure has brought the realities of war closer to us, we still have not had it first hand. We have not lived on K-rations, slept in foxholes, or stood watch against a salty cold wind. We have not yet tasted, as they have, the bitterness of defeat or the sweetness of victory. We all hope and pray for their speedy return wherever they may be,—from the compact snows of Iceland to the mos- quito and Jap infested South Pacific Islands. In our small way, we, the class of 1945, dedicate our yearbook to THE BOYS OF OUR CLASS IN SERVICE Six

Clusar Advisers rT1HROUGH three difficult war years Miss Lucretia Kerr has been an inspiring adviser to the class of 1945. Her desk in 107 is usually surrounded by a group of students consulting with her about their problems — scholastic and social. Although our class is large, most of us have come in contact with Miss Kerr, and we all realize how much time, thought, and effort she has devoted to us and our interests. Miss Kerrs activities are not limited to her school duties. She is a sports enthusiast, being particularly addicted to tennis, golf, and horseback riding. However, since the war began she has had little time for this. She works at Valley Forge Hospital over the weekend and is a Red Cross Gray Lady also. Besides this, she is in charge of a First Aid Emergency Corps and every Thursday she assists at the Blood Donors' Sta- tion. In the summer she grows a Victory- Garden and she enjoys canning her produce.
