Tll EY Al..Q'0 SERVE N PAYING trihute as we have done on previous pages to faculty, students, and men in our armed forces we must not forget those who serve us daily in many small ways. They are the first to enter the huilding and the last to leave. The groups of which I speak are thc janitors and the women who work in the cafeteria. Wheiiever there are after school teas and han' cluets for our various clulws and other organizations we can always count on the cheery cooperation of Mrs. Knox and her staff. We rely on them too to satisfy the hungering desires of many Upper Darhy students who throng the counter at lunch time. That, in itself, is a hig joh. A deht of gratitude is also owed to the janitors. They not only maintain neatness throughout the liuilding hut cooperate in all possihle ways with our school plays and assemhlies, thus giving us many good times. These memhers of the school service staff, hy their kindness and cooperation have made our school life easier, hrighter and more pleasant. May our thanks he expressed to them not in mere words hut in heartf felt appreciation. Mr. Butterworth at the Garrettford dedica- tion . . . PPER DARBY is fortunate to have with her for a part of each semester student teachers from various surrounding institutionsgnamely, the University of Penn' sylvania, Drexel Institute of Technology, and Temple University. While the student teachers are gaining experience, we profit hy receiving the newest ideas in education and also any special instruction which the cadets are always so willing to give. The cadet teachers do much helpful work in the lihrary and the attendance oflice. There are innumerable other services which they perform that associate them more closely with the school, and the students more closely to them. We are greatly indehted to the student teachers for the fine work they have done, and for the little extra things so valuable to student life. Twentyfthree
