T OTH semesters many aspiring teachers came to Upper Darby from the University of Pennsylvania, Villanova College, Drexcl Institute of Technology, and Temple University. Their aims were to gain practical experience in teaching and to put into use the new and effective methods of modern schooling that had been studied during their college training courses. The work of the cadet teachers was not easy. They had to become acquainted with the intricacies of our school system as they learned to teach under new and vary' ing conditions. They have aided the school by assisting in the attendance office and the library, and have offered their services willingly in many extra-curricular activities. The two groups of potential teachers that came to the Upper Darby this past year did grand work, and it is the sincere wish of the school that they find success and happiness in their chosen career. T T IS only fitting that we pay tribute to the mem- - • hers of the “office brigade of our high school. They are the second lieutenants who contribute in a large measure to the successful management of the army of education. Special recognition should be given Miss Eliza- beth Thompson, a graduate of Upper Darby in 1922, who was secretary to Mr. Tyson for nineteen years. She resigned this fall to be married but left behind numerous friends and a high standard of efficiency. We truly want to thank the office force for the service they have rendered us and our school.
