TO HIGH SCHOOL “The school on the hill has long been the fond appellation of our Alma Mater. Picturesquely situated atop a rise on Lansdowne Avenue, the Upper Darby Senior High School is in the approximate center of the township. Every morning troops of happy-go-lucky boys and girls swarm toward its halls of learning. This building so familiar to us all, has come to stand for our ideals of truth, honor, and loyalty. We are thankful that we have had the opportunity to attend so outstanding a school, and will always remember with pleas- ure our moments spent in Upper Darby's friendly halls. The information desk, as usual, the center of attention.

I ... With pride, because the events of the pres- ent time prove that the school children of America are not losing faith in their country or its way of life, but rather that they possess the qualities which strengthen and preserve the democratic ideals we cherish. The quick and latent attributes of the township’s youth are nourished and fostered by the Upper Darhv School system, outstanding as one of the fore- most in the land. From kindergarten through high school students are taught to work singly and in groups, to be self-reliant, trustworthy, and mindful of the rights of others; the secondary schools, by encouraging participation in athletics, clubs, and student government, help to form well-rounded future citizens. Truly, the members of this community can view their sons and daughters with pride, knowing that youth has been ably trained, and proven capable and worthy of governing our nation. Thirteen
