1684 . 1779 . 1786 . 1835 . 1891 . 1894 . 1896 . 1919 . 1920 . 1926 . 1928 . 1930 . 1937 . . A land grant was mad© to William Garrett by the founder of Pennsylvania. William Penn. . Settlers on this land assembled to purchase grounds on which to erect a school. . The first little grey stone school-house was built. . A Free School System was adopted in Pennsylvania. The first free public school in Upper Darby was placed under the direction of Isaac Garrett. . The first alumni reunion was held in the new brick building which had been built to take the place of the smaller stone one. . Upper Darby Senior High School was established under the direction of Miss Elizabeth D. Turner, principal. . The commencement of the first graduating class of five students was held. . The new building (which is the front part of the present high school) was completed. . The ground in back of the school was graded and, in dedication to those who lost their lives in the World War, was named Memorial Athletic Field. . Because of the growth in enrollment an addition of thirty-three rooms was constructed. . Six more rooms were annexed to take care of the many incoming students. . The new Junior High School was completed, thus doing away with a part of the over-crowded conditions in the high school. . The graduation of one of the most illustrious classes in the history of the school occurred.
