MR. F. JAMES LAMBOURNE Biology MRS. CAROL UNVERFERTH Biology MR. ALFRED DOMINICO Biology We investigate daily phenomena MR. WILLIAM DUDROW Biology The science courses are planned as preparation tor college. Emphasis was placed on theory this year, and individual research was encouraged because it helps students acquire a better understanding of basic concepts. The blue book entitled Biological Sciences Curriculum Study was used in biology classes. This program is designed to explain how scientific theories were developed, as well as to present basic information. Laboratory periods were more frequent than in other years to allow students to investigate many topics. Laboratory study was essential to the chemistry course. Actual observation of phenomena complemented theoretical material from classroom lectures and the textbook. Students studied the chemical nature of matter on all levels of its structure: molecular, atomic, and sub-atomic. The physics course aimed to present the traditional information, while keeping up with the latest discoveries in this increasingly widening field. Individual projects, which were required, and field trips illustrated the applications of this subject. MR. ROBERT CAVINS Chemistry MR. ROBERT SNOUFFER Chemistry MR. RICHARD FRYMAN Biology 28
