The buzz of a saw, the methodic hum of a sewing machine, the whisper of a paint brush, and the steady click of a typewriter each offer students the opportunity of practical training for the future. Industrial arts teach students anything from merely mending a chair to constructing a table. Preparing meals, refinishing furniture, making clothes, and learning to care for children are all parts of the home economics courses. By taking fine arts, students are offered a wide range of activities from sketching and water color to sculpture and ceramics. The business education department teaches a wide variety of practical skills from writing a business letter to taking better class notes to help students to prepare for future careers.
