CLHSS HISTORY The Trihe ot ,41 is now ready to depart from Notgnilra Village into greater hunting grounds where the light of the rising sun shines brightly down upon vast prairies. First, let me tell you some of the high-lights in the history ot our great trihe. Way hack in 1929, twenty-seven ot our hraves and squaws, Patti Anne Adlcison, Dean Axene, Dick Barr, Jimmy Baynes, Ray Fenner, Caroline Fisher, lvlaryanne Fisher, Marilyn Gardner, Jim Harmon, Peter Held, lvlarge Howe, Ellen Jones, Sarah Joseph, Bill Keifer, Gloria McDonald, lVliriam Mclntosh, Hobart Wlunsell, Jane Palmer, Andy Scott, Paul Selby, Barloara Shain, Barbara Shipley, Dorothy Starr, Harry Steele, Robert Taylor, Nancy Wood, and John Zartman joined our tribe as tiny papooses. Each pa- poose had foremost in his mind the undying hope that some day he would hecome a, hold hrave or a worthy maiden. Do you rememher that great day when we were freshmen? Gur little chiefs that year were the following: president, Dean Axeneg vice president, Ted Hamiltong secretary, lvlarilyn Gardnerg and treasurer, .lim Harmon. As we were still very young, we stayed Close to the campg however, we did have one war dance. It was held at Smithss Skating Rini: on Qctoher '50, 1957. 9 Our freshman year Flew hy, and we were promoted to the ranlcs ol sophomores. Due to the arrival ot many new warriors to hen the Notgnilra Village was rapidly gaining tame and for- tune. Sophomore chiets were the following: president, Paul Selhyg vice president, Ted Hamil- tong secretary, Clare Shannong treasurer, Cvorden Rosencrans. On Novemloer 10, we gathered all the w7illages together and held a dance in North Hall. It went under the common name ot the usophomore Flopu, hut it was a great occasion in our young lives. Une bright day the following September, we all reported to the Notgnilra Village to till the position of juniors. Thinking we were at last on the complex road to warriorship, the proud junior loraves and squaws loolced down with disgust on the antics ot the uso youngu papooses. Living up to our new status we gave one of the higgest and hest powwows in our history, the Junior-Senior. All the Council Ring, Big Chief, lvledicine Mari, loraves, squaws, and papooses attended this powwow in their hest and most ferocious war paint. On lxlarch 29, we presented the junior class play entitled Mfhe Ghost Paradef, Seniorsl l ul At last we were full-Hedged warriors. Conflicting emotions tilted the hearts ot every hrave and squaw. Each one of us felt a pang of remorse at the thought ot leaving our vil- lage, hut we all anticipated the thoughts ot new and hetter hunting grounds. The chiefs were president, Ted Hamiltong vice president, Paul Selby, secretary, Jim tlarmong treasurer, Gordon Rosencrans. They all have had hard taslcs hetore them, lout they have done line worlc. Our senior class play, nYoung April , was presented in the auditorium on lway 16. After graduation the Trihe of '41 will stage its final powwow in North Hall. The hraves and squaws ot the village would like to express their gratitude to the Medicine Man, to Big Chief, and to the Council Ring tor their untiring elltorts which have contrihuted so greatly to our success.
