DH fCflTED The staff of the 1966 Hielan has selected Mr. Glenn Edward Nichols as the dedicatee of the yearbook. This man of intelligence, perse- ver ance, and wit was chosen because of the outstanding effort he has nnade to teach his students and to uphold the honor of Upland High School. Raised in Wellington, Ohio, Mr. Nichols spent his elementary education in local schools, participating in all sports, plays, and other activities. Even as a youngster he displayed his characteristic individualism. He was a star quarterback on the Chaffey College football team. Mr. Nichols spent four years in the service OS a naval hospital corpsman. He attended Ohio State and won a National Science Foun- dation scholarship to Oregon State.
