SPORTS I.M.S. Recognition of Sewanee ' s sports teams goes without saying. But the most festive of occasions at some events is in the presence of the High- landers and the Wellingtons, tradi- tional boys ' drinking clubs. ORGANIZATIONS The ring. A traditional symbol of love and eternity. The Sewanee expe- rience has left most with love for their alma mater and an eternal bond with their fellow classmates. May all cher- ish it and respect it as a token of sur- vival. ROAD TRIP! — ROAD TRIP! Even on such occasions, the mysti- cism of Sewanee remains. At warp speed, all students grab their angels, if not for the protection of themselves, then for the safety of their car. It ' s funny but it ' s tradition. STUDENT LIFE As another tradition, Sewanee stu- dents have a lust for the night life and certain liquid refreshment. Conse- quently, Sewanee students are tradi- tionally broke!

THEOLOGY A Sewanee landmark, seen for quite a few decades, has been the cross. Constructed as a memorial of WWII, it is still a popular sight to visit as it boasts one of the prettiest views off the mountain. ] ! ■:- ' ' aNTCS Mm FACULTY Freshmen dream of it. Sophomores work for it. Juniors pray for it. Well, let ' s hope seniors have it. Yes, it is none other than that revered garment of academia, the gown. Its traditional benefits are great: no cut slips, first choice dorm assignments, and phys- ical comfort — it adds warmth on those cold Sewanee mornings. »5 GREEKS The Greeks, dominant force of the Sewanee social society, have kept stu- dents and curious visitors entertained for years.
