These preach- ers and their wives, taking a major part in the campus life, created an atmosphere of friendliness which, if not tan- gible enough to hnd its Way to the printed page of the College Bulletin, yet went forth in the enthusiasm and loyalty of Pa ciHc's great Family II There has been a change in externals. Many of the minis ters have returned to their Aww N-.- flocks. Their places have been hlled by scientists, name men , specialists and straight academicans. But the atmos- phere of informal friendliness has been retained. The broad cultural aims of the founders, flavored with genial humanity by the preacher- professors who succeeded them, still per- vade Pacific.
