Voices Of Imagination 1985 and 1986 offered UW-Stout plen- ty of imagination voiced in many ways. This year created an impression that won ' t be forgotten. Big and comfortable set the trend for fashion. Girls turned to more unisex clothing, adding the feminine touch with an accessory or two. Girls also added to their wardrobes the dreaded stretch pants they hated as children, now calling them stirrups. Guys, be- coming more and more fashion con- scious, took a second look at their wardrobes this year adding a little more variety in their style and adding some accessories to their wardrobe as well. Both sexes sported bold colors and bright prints. It was not surprising to see Benetton, Forenza, Coca-cola, or Genera in big bold letters across the front or back of clothing. Sunglasses became fashion for all as students dangled them from their necklines and pockets, put them on strings around their necks, and finally wear- ing them day or night. Through this fashion craze however, tradition did survive. Jeans, sweats, gym shorts, t- shirts, sweaters, and penny loafers certainly played a major role on cam- pus. Guys and girls cut their hair shorter. Hair spray was replaced by gel, mousse, and styling spray. Highlights and foiling became more acceptable and adding a variety of colors. Farts moved from the center to one side or the other, showing a lot of asymmetri- cal styles. Some students, in attempts to voice their imaginations, invested in their tans during the winter months at local tanning salons. 2 Opening
