The Falcons were considered the main threat for the lead in the conference standing and Stout was again given a fighting chance to win. However, the Fellows couldn ' t click, while their opponents dexterously filled the Kill to the hoop. Fouls were frequent, with Darby Woman going out of the game. In their second co nfer en ce game the Devils played the Racquet cagers from La Crosse on the Armory floor The game wai one of the fastest and closest games of the season. Both tide pi tyed more in offense then defense, giving a chance for much scoring. Completely outplaying their op- ponents during the first half, the Blue Devils were, .it one time, leading hy 17 points. In the second half, the La CroSK five Staged a rally that made the game a nip and tuck affair during the re- maining minutes. Paced by Watts, negro ace and riorvath, star guard, the La Crosse Racquets won 55--S4. The came ended 54-54, but hy virtu, a foul committed by Stout as the gun went off.
