This spacious zig-zagging structure provides its more than 300 residents with comfortable family-type living. The men at the hall function as a unit, taking part in an extensive intramural sports program and also in planning and sponsoring parties. Ballif's excellent food service added a pleasing innovation this year when the girls from Central Hall began eating their meals with the men of Ballif. Uld Uninn Building For many years functioning as the student gathering ground, the 'old' Union lost a part of its importance when progression and improvement took over and the new Union was built. The 'U.B.' will forever remain as a reminder to those who worked and played in its many rooms. The halls will echo with the familiar sounds of work and play that kept the building so completely alive. The old Union Building will not die, howeverp it will take on the importance of the much needed fine arts center. X

Carlson Hall Carlson Hall was the beginning of college days for the freshmen girls. The daily portion of milk, the gab sessions that lasted well into the nights, the frustrations over the first fraternity formal, all gave way to study by the end of the quarter. And, after vacation, a group of sophisticated, well- informed, confident coeds returned to carry on their activities on a now-familiar campus.
