S 677001 0 f Eafumizbn KEEP COOL, YET WARM HIS being the time of year when advice is the order of the day, l offer mine: Keep cool, yet warm-cool as to head and warm heart, in giving joy, reaps joy many fold. The cool head is an asset in social or in professional life, and has great advantage over the head that gets overheated. The cool head, provided it is otherwise a good head, can discuss a question on its merits, can distinguish principles from mere individual likes and dislikes, and thus secures approval of his contention from the impartial spectator. The hot head, on the other hand, looses out all around-with the spectators and with himselfg his energy has all been expended on producing heat instead of light. One of the most distressing experiences in social life is con- tact with a person who has the heart of a fish, the cold-blooded man. l-le is likely to be without intimate friends and without social prestige in spite of the fact that he frequently makes a fortune. The man with a warm heart is not dependent upon wealth for he finds his riches in association with his fellowsg the warm heart, in giving joy, reaps joy many fold. As a formula for making friends and for keeping friends there seems to be no better one than a cool head and a Warm heart. Page Twenty Fzve
