James Taylor After a bout with strep throat in Octo- ber, James Taylor appeared at Stokely Athletic Center Saturday night, Novem- ber 20, and sang 41 songs. The audience, restless after a 30 min- ute delay, was appeased as the plain- clothed musician got underway with 'lSweet Baby James. His music caused a hush that was deafening. Taylor's talking to the audience be- tween songs was easy and very friendly After awhile it seemed as though one was sitting in a room with a group of friends listening to their friend James sing. His performance was astounding and his music came from his popular albums Mud Slide Slim and Sweet Baby James. After the two hour and fifteen minute mark, Taylor concluded his concert and received a standing ova- tion. When he finished. James Taylor put down his guitar and started to leave. The people in front of the stage reached out to shake his hand. He shook several hands. but was off the stage as quickly as he had gotten on. In fact. he did not even stay for his ovation. 32
