i 4 Mechaniied Agriculture WEBSTER PENDERGRASS Dean of Agriculture College of Agriculture The University’s Agricultural training program draws its strength not only from its teaching faculty but also from its position in the entire University ' family' of 14 colieges and schools. As one of these colleges, the College of Agriculture utilizes the resources of these other colleges in the training of agricultural students. The College of Agriculture contributes to the training of students by the divisions of agricultural research, agricultural extension, and resident teaching. The Agricultural Experiment Station, a unit of this college, conducts research on many problems which confront Tennes- see farmers. Six substations located in various parts of the state and the main station at the University in Knoxville are maintained for this experimental program so that the problems of every part of Tennessee may be given proper attention. The University of Tennessee prides itself on the fact that its faculty members are known throughout the state and nation for their training and abilities in their fields of specialization.
