The preparation of teachers before they begin their careers is but one phase of the College of Education. Much time ond effort is devoted to helping teachers do their work better. DEAN N. E. FITZGERALD THE COLLEGE The University’s College of Education has set up a four-year minimum program for training teachers of all grades. During these four years, student teochers study children, explore various teaching methods, develop skill in teaching several areas and learn to use the educational materials which will be at their disposal. The College of Education is committed to a 12-grade program, and every effort is made to help prospective teachers see how a program organized on that basis functions in a community.
