Standing: Griggs and Hancock PUBLICATIONS COUNCIL The Publications Council is composed of six members—two student representatives and one alumni representative — who are elected each spring in the A.S.C. elections, and three faculty members, appointed by the president of the Uni- versity. This council directs the major policies of the student publications, the Orange and White and the VOLUNTEER. and is responsi- ble for any major actions taken by these publica- tions. The two student representatives also have a voice in A.S.C., the student governing board, and thereby the two organizations, the Publications Council and A.S.C., are in agreement on major issues and cooperate to the fullest extent possible. The editors and business managers of the VOLUNTEER and the Orange and White also attend council meetings, and though they have no vote they are responsible to the council tor the execution of the publication duties which are theirs because of their position.
