The publication of a college yearbook is a demanding enterprize — one which requires the assistance, coopera- tion, and participation of many. The sixty-seven staff of the Summit would like to express its appreciation to oil of those who made this annual possible. The theme this year is that of construction, in order to carry this theme throughout the book, the staff need- ed several expert photographers: Malcolm Gamble pro- vided the aerial shot of the Asheville-Biltmore campus. Jack Schlodt captured the faculty at work, and Bert Shipmon spent many hours obtaining just the right pictures in the more-difficult-to-photograph areas. The staff would like to thank the faculty for allowing themselves to be photographed in their classrooms and for encouraging the students at Asheville-Biltmore to co-operate with the Summit staff. The administration deserves acknowledgement for their assistance also. No yearbook can exist without students, and their partici- pation was appreciated. Pete Gilpin, the Summit ' s technical consultant, gave assistance, co-operation, and participation, fie spent many hours taking the staff to conferences, acquiring much needed snapshots, and giving answers to ever- increasing questions. Mr. Gilpin is the proverbial man behind the scene, and the staff would like to express deep appreciation to him. No annual is ever published by the work of a few; rather it is by the efforts of many.
