The next Saturday was another open date, but on October 27 Ihe Bulldogs traveled to Banner Elk to battle the Lees-McRae Bobcats. The Bulldogs lost this conference game, but they ouiplayed iheBobcats. In the first quarter Ihe score was held 0-0 although the Bulldogs drove to Leei 4-yard line. During the second quarter Ken Cannon of the Bobcats i and fromlhere he scored a T.D. Joe White made the point. During this same q ter Sears made a touchdown for the Bulldogs, but his try for the extra point was blocked. In the third quarter Floyd Patrick scored for the Bobcats from A-B ' s - -yard lir point was good. White passed to Doug Haminetl, who s was not made and the game ended ZO-b.
