The high standard set by past volumes was not easy to attain, yet, profiting from the experience of our predecessors, we hope to have surpassed it. It has been our aim to present a faithful record of the college year to recapture that spirit so vitally a part of the class of 194-l. The task has not been easy. We who have shared experiences at the University of New Hampshire, who have come to know its campus and partaken of its 'academic heritage, know that the full scope and rich- ness of its theme can never be adequately conveyed. If we have succeeded in furnish- ing an enduring memorial to our .class and a fitting tribute to our university, the Granite staff is grateful. Perhaps these pages can best be evaluated only in retrospect. Later on, when this campus scene has become remote and old friends are scattered, may this volume help you to remember.
