Unfortunately for the Rebels, the lure of the pros saw him signing a contract with the National Basketball Asso- ciation in mid-May. During his brief, but outstanding career at NSU, John led the team in rebounding with an 11.4 average, and was second in scoring with a fine 21.0. He was named to the All-Tournament team at the NCAA West Coast Regionals, and at the end of the season was honored as the RebeI's Most Valuable Player. TRAPP

LYONS Don l.yons was perhaps the most unique basketball player to start for a team in the nation this season. Being a deaf mute, Don's handicap was entirely un- noticeable on the floor. Averaging nearly eight rebounds and over I3 points per game, he won the hearts of Las Vegas fans with his courageous playing. Don will be back again next season.

Always steady, he averaged 9.0 re- bounds and l3.8 points per game. Besides providing a potent scoring threat, he was also the RebeI's leading defensive ace. Jerry was named NSU's Most Inspirational Player at the award's banquet at the end of the year.
