MIZZOU O 82 4 It was a year of budget cuts, bricklaying, beer guzzling and following the latest fads. A party, and you were invited. The time, the place: MIZZOU o 82. REVIEW 30 Political upheaval in Poland, Centralia catching fire, MSA's war against Washington and a fight over the Falklands are detailed in REVIEW. WINDOWS 46 Beekeepers, BibIe-toters, Playboy prospects and pizza-eaters are some of the suspicious characters youtll discover by looking through Mizzou's WINDOWS. VISITORS 98 8.8., Beaver, the father of the bomb, a Starship and several Shooting Stars made their way to Mizzou. Almost as much as they relished checks from home, students welcomed the University's VISITORS. FACES 122 The grads, the queens, the deans, Jimmy, Babs and Kit strike poses as Savitarts featured FACES. JOCKS 190 Yot Mama, if you didn't watch the basketball Tigers rise to Number One 2 for a while. Whether it's gaining yardage on the gridiron or spiking opponents silly, Mizzou tans love to keep track of their JOCKS. GREEKS 302 Fraternities fighting, sororities rushing and pledges cowering continued the traditions of living like the GREEKS. FRIENDS 388 Dormies, do-gooders, roommates and rosters were all part of gathering into groups at Mizzou. Find some of your FRIENDS. FRAMES 452 Life in Columbia isnit always dreary. Savitar's photographers found some of the bright spots around town and captured them in a few FRAMES. COLOPHON: Savitar 1982 is the eighty-eighth volume of the University of Missouri-Columbia yearbook. The 480-page book was printed by Hunter Publishing Company, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A press run of 4800 copies with a trim size of 9 by 12 inches was printed on 80-pound Productolith Duil Enamel. Black and white and 4-color photography was reproduced using offset lithography with a 150 line elliptical dot screen. Senior portraits were photographed by Roger Short of Yearbook Associates, Millers Falls, Massachusetts. Body copy was set in 10i12 pt. Times Fioman. Captions were set in 1on2 pt. Helvetica Bold and photo credits are 8 pt. Helvetica. Display faces include Avant, Baskerville, Caslon, Helvetica, Futura and Optima. Additional specifications are available upon request.
