- An aerial view of Missouri ' s new Medical Center. Missouri ' s School of Medicine has provided high standards of medical education. It was a pioneer in introducing and developing laboratory methods and was one of the first schools to place these fundamental medical sciences in the charge of specialists required to devote their time exclusively to teaching and investigation. The Medical Center houses both the University Hospital and the University School of Medicine and School of Nursing, found in the Medical Sciences Building. The Medical Sciences Building is connected to the University Hospital by a two-story corridor. The Medical Sciences Building will house the administrative offices for the University School of Medicine and School of Nursing, the Medical Sciences Library, classrooms, research laboratories, and other facilities for the teaching of anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, physiology, pharmacology, and the nursing arts. 12
