Here are artistic students can putter at things artistic in their spare time. JUST ANY TIME of fhe day you'II find Read Hall, Mizzou's sfudenf union, crowded wifh a variefy of sfudenfs engaged in a variefy of acfivifies. In fhe firsf-floor lounges, cuI'l'ure-minded sfudenfs ogle arf exhibifs while ofher individuals lose fhemselves in bridge, maga- zines, piano playing, conversafion, or iusf plain sfudying. And clown below in fhe Bengalair, fI1ere's music, dancing, and food for any fime-on-my-hands momenfs. IN THE UPPER STORIES are housed fhe campus acfivify offices- manned by fhe guys who dangle Iceys, 'lhe gals who make 'lhe rules, fhe people who know fheir Y's and wherefores, 'lhe iournalisfs who periodically cover fhe campus wifh newsprinf. And all, af one fime or anofher, amble down fhe second floor hall fo check with fhe clean and direcfors who supervise fhe whole affair. THE BIG UR , . . of Read Hall is MISS R -LOUISE ROBERTSON, director of Read Hall, Her job of running Miz- zou's Union takes in every- thing from advising the policy board to helping the janitor. She's had the job for the past nine years, A graduate and Mortar Boarder of Flori- da State College, she also did grad work here in philosophy and journalism. Having been raised in Florida, her ambi- tion now is to learn ice-skat- ing. BUSY BOY . . . HARRY BRIGGS found time during the grind of being a law student to be chairman of Read Hall. Some of his other work around campus has been with APO, ODK, and the Glee Club. A DU from St. Joe, he admits subversive tendencies by say- ing that he supports a party that advocates the overthrow of the government-the Re- publican Party. ....halI

The party had costumes and zany stunts, such as the mock trial pic tured above. These two aren't just ordinary Lramps-they're stars of the 1950 carousel show, Gus Gi- :ardano and C. J. Cherry.
