SGA did hard and good work toward making college life smoother for the students. These are the boys who are responsible for informing the students of SGA action--the publicity department. SGA is highly organized with repartrnents and divisions who split the responsibilities. Some of the heads here are responsible for things like Homecoming, Elections and Administration. :N

THE BOSS TWEED . . . of lVlizzou is amhling SGA president Big TOIVI LACO, who built himself an all powerful machine out of the ACT party. Under his able leadership, SGA made good nearly all its campaign promises. The Hamburg, N. Y., boy is a member of Mystical Seven and an NROTC Scholar- ship student. An engaged man, the DU plans to go on Navy duty in June and wants overseas service, away from politics. tucl n Once a week or so, SGA counsil gets together and earnestly works to aid the students. The policy making organization sets the legislative wheels rolling to affect such student problems as negative hours, book pool, and exchange students.

Among lhe larger pro- gressive sfeps made this year were: the book pool, finally begun after 30 years of futile efforts: 'rlne building of hard-surface tennis courts, aHer Mizzou students had become famous for their feel of clayg fhe successful continuance of the leadership lraining program through Hs second year. Life is hard on some of the poor students, but they really needn't worry too much, for the ever-faithful SGA has a division to look after them-the Student Welfare Division. The leery-eyed gent in the middle is Chairman Mike Capes. The work of the SGA covered many fields and necessi- tated many workers, for many menial tasks.
