DONNELLY GOVERNOR Phil M. Donnelly, the chief executive of the State of Missouri, was born in Lebanon, Missouri, in 1891. He received his early education in the Missouri public schools, and graduated from St. Louis University in 1913. Governor Donnelly started his political career by serving as prosecuting attorney for Laclede County. From this start he moved to the Missouri House of Representatives Where he served two years. In 1924 he Cntered the state senate and he remained there until his election to the governorship in 1944.

Middlebush the University of Missouri has been home since early 1926 when the University announced Dr. Middlebush's appointment as dean of the School of Business and Public Administration. In 1935, Dr. Middlebush was named president of the University, a post he has since held with distinction. Dr. Middlebush is a practical man, a quality that stood him in good stead during the War years. New buildings, library additions, an improved faculty, and increased financial grants from the state legis- lature attest to the success of his administration. Page 20
