With President Ray Taylor as chief engineer the officers and council of Student Government spent most of their time this year oiling up their legislative machinery. The Navy gen- tlemen were only with us as a unit until mid-year, but they livened things up considerably during that time. The veterans, though, stayed the entire year, and will in fact xx ,. These former warriors- their wives and children-came in such profusion that many trailer camps and other arrange- ments had to be hurriedly im- provised to house them. Page 7

There is nothing particu- larly scientific about a pep rally. One just goes to it and yells like mad until his face turns red, or in the case of really advanced pepsters, purple. But a pep rally's effect on school spirit Ca somewhat vague terminologyj is miraculous. It encourages the team. It makes the cheerers thirstyg they visit the Shack, sometimes the Dixie, and so good fellowship flows like the three-point-two. Our two top scenes are of the bonfire Cand some of its brighter sparksj before the Nebraska football game, which Missouri won . . . . . because of the pep rally no doubt.
