HE forty-ninth Savitar - For almost a half century our yearbook has recorded the antics of successive classes of Jo and Josephine College, accomplishing little or much. Cherish this edition, for it marks the end of an era - the end which began on December 7, 1941. It reflects the University in transition, a year which was both an end and a beginning. Its record is different for on its pages are mirrored the young people who watched a new way of life replace an old one. It witnessed the destruction of venerable and estab- lished institutions, yet anticipates without trepidation the dawn of a new era -
