' Many of our guests travelled long llwimlH distances from many states to witness and participate in the Twentieth Annual Bay State Dairy Classic. Others mar- velled at the technical advances which were on display at the Annual Student Engineering Open House. Here wide-eyed spectators watched in awe as students exhibited new techniques in the fields of electronics and mechanics. The Roister Doisters ' traditional performance for University visitors added another success to the organization ' s credit. In the Spewacks ' comedy, dy Three Angels, students portrayed a group of escaped convicts who made Christmas merry for a storekeeper and his family. The performance added even more enjoyment to the weekend for the Open House audiences. ., , ,. „„„ , ,, Now, for 64,000 dollars April saw one of the most publicized jokes ever to take place at our University. The Chor- dette Hoax had its beginning when Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority received a telegram from the Chordettes, the female quartette which had appeared on the Arthur Godfrey television-radio program. The wire announced a forthcoming visit from the group, since one of its members was a Kappa alumna. After much delay the expected guest arrived and serenaded the sisters. To the amazement of an expectant campus, the long awaited guests turned out to be four University of Massachusetts men who had planned the hoax and sent the wire.
