The School of Engineering offers courses in Agricultural Engineering, Light Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineer- ing, and Chemical Engineering. The curricula offered by the school is carefully laid out to give the student a sound training in the funda- mentals of the various branches of his chosen field, while giving him, at the same time, intensive training in mathematics and science, the important tools of the engineer. The new engineering building, Gunness Laboratory, was finally completed and occupied at the beginning of the school year, thus alleviating considerably the crowded classroom situation and making available more technical equipment. The number of Freshmen enrolled in the School of Home Economics this year was twice that of last year, making a total of 177 Home-Ec majors in the school. The number of courses offered has also in- creased, with the introduction of two new courses to the Child Devel- opment and Family Life program. In recent years, the demand for Home Economics graduates has far exceeded the supply. Employment, with opportunity for advancement, is very probable for any student who successfully completes one of the four-year programs in the school. HOME ECONOMICS HELEN SWIFT MITCHELL, A.B. (Mt.
