CULTURAL ACTIVITIES ELEO POMARE DANCE COMPANY The Eleii Piiinare Dance Company was first formed in iy58. A major part of its purpose has always been the creative utilization of Ne ro talent and ability in American Modern Dance. in an effort to break away from confining stereotypes of Negro and Primitive dance. Most of the company ' s repertory consists of works for 10-15 dancers. Chamber programs like the present one are given in cases where technical, stage, or financial limitations do not permit such large-scale w.irks. About the CHOREOGRAPHER: Eleo Pomare was born in (;oliMnbia. South America, and was raised in Panama. Onlral America. He studied dance at New York City ' s High .School of Performing Arts, and has been dancing since the age of 16. He received a fellow- ship lo study with .lose Limon, (Curtis James, and Kurt .Ini.s iji Ccrinany. al the- Vilkswangschule.
