The elegant First Lady of Maryland State College for the year 1969-70, is none other than Miss Diane Hampton of Washington, D.C. Miss Hampton is a graduate of Roosevelt Senior High School. Diane is a senior Art Education major who actively participates in the Art Club, the Year book Staff, the Y.W.C.A., and the Women ' s Council. Previously, she has been a member of the Home Economics Association and the majorette squad. She was Miss Kappa Alpha Psi at Maryland State College for 1967-68.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES ELEO POMARE DANCE COMPANY The Eleii Piiinare Dance Company was first formed in iy58. A major part of its purpose has always been the creative utilization of Ne ro talent and ability in American Modern Dance. in an effort to break away from confining stereotypes of Negro and Primitive dance. Most of the company ' s repertory consists of works for 10-15 dancers. Chamber programs like the present one are given in cases where technical, stage, or financial limitations do not permit such large-scale w.irks. About the CHOREOGRAPHER: Eleo Pomare was born in (;oliMnbia. South America, and was raised in Panama. Onlral America. He studied dance at New York City ' s High .School of Performing Arts, and has been dancing since the age of 16. He received a fellow- ship lo study with .lose Limon, (Curtis James, and Kurt .Ini.s iji Ccrinany. al the- Vilkswangschule. He received a .lohn Hay Wliilncv Fellowship to study In Europe from I%l-1%4. Already having formed a New York based dance group. Pomare formed one In Amslerdam, and has since pcrlonncd and taught in Euro|ie at the Royal Dutch Hallcl. .Scapioo Ballet. .Stockholm fni- vcrsity. and the First Inlcrnaticjnal Dance Seminar of the R(,yal Danish Ballet.
