HONORARY PRESIDENT OF THE Class of 1958 DR. Y AM-H IN LOUIE The recognition of a member of the faculty as the honorary president of the Senior Class is, perhaps, one of the more trying and pleasurable duties of the class. The pleasure comes from being able to show our sincere appreciation of his help, good advice, and professional ability. The task is somewhat trying because our class must choose one man from many who are qualified. However, the Class of 1958 felt that one man was outstanding in possessing the above qualifications. Therefore, the Senior Class of 1958 is proud to include on its roll as Honorary President Dr. Yam-bin Louie. ■115 V

THE SENIORS CLASS OFFICERS President: H. S. Spurrier Vice President: John S. Rushton Secretary: Frank Trotto Treasurer: Robert Goren Historian: Clyde Marlow Sergeant-at-Arms: Martin Crytzer Student Senate Representatives: Thomas Birney Anthony Micelotti Standing: R. Goren, T. Micelotti, T. Birney. Seated: J. Rushton, H. Spurrier, F. Trotto. Five years ago we desired more than anything else to become dental students — this was con- sidered the ultimate achievement. Having attained it, we looked amid never-ceasing anxiousness to the passing of each academic year. At present, successful completion of requirements for gradua- tion, followed by state boards, is uppermost in our minds. It is good always to be looking forward, for thus life has purpose. We eagerly anticipate the autonomy and independence of private practice. Some of us will experience th is shortly after graduation, but most of us will be engaged in internships, Armed Forces dental programs, and graduate study. However, the most important thing of all is that we shall reap the reward of long years of learning: we shall bear the title of Doctor with its priv- ileges, immunities, and responsibilities. We move into the active conduct of our profession with confidence resulting from thorough training in basic fundamental concepts. Possessing this educational foundation, we shall be able to evaluate modern developments in dental techniques, and either adapt to them or reject them. Finally we wish to extend sincerest thanks to the members of our faculty for their guidance and patience, and deepest appreciation to our families for having undergone varying degrees of hardship so that we could pursue our course of study. {U}
