Members are appointed by the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen for terms of ten years. Dean of Women MISS DORIS NICKEL Miss Nickel was appointed to her present position of Acting Dean of Women in july, 1955. She attended Indiana State College, I. U., and Northwestern. In 1947, she came to U of L as an instructor in Secre- tarial Science and later became As- sistant Dean. She is a member of Delta Pi Epsilon, Pi Lambda Theta, American Association of University Women, National and Kentucky Associations of Deans of Women, Delta. Kappa Gamma, N. B. T. A., and Cwens. 3 Vice President MR. WOODROW STRICKLER Mr. Strickler attended Bucknell University, the University of Penn- sylvania, and Northwestern Univer- sity. Before coming to the Univer- sity in 1938 he had wide business experience and served as a lecturer at Northwestern. Memberships in- clude: O.D.K., Delta Mu Delta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Advertising Club of Louisville, Lions Club, and Louisville Real Estate Board. Dean of Men MR. DAVE LAWRENCE Mr. Lawrence has been Dean of Men for five years. He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Kentucky where he gained hon- orable mention on the All-American Basketball Team. During World War II, he served in the Navy, I-Ie is an active member in: Lions Club, Omicron Delta Kappa, National and State P. E. Associations, and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. 43?
