Kant Sclzv Inf S11 ia! We k The Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work is a pro- fessional school offering graduate preparation in the field of social welfare. The professional Work of the School includes a program of classroom courses, research, and field work. The School, established under the name of the Graduate Division of Social Administration in 1937, was an outgrowth of the Department of Sociology and Social Work within the University. In 1944 the name of the School was changed to memorialize the late president of the University, Dr. Raymond A. Kent. The professional social worker is concerned with a wide variety of social problems. The social worker is employed in departments of public assistance and public welfare, child welfare agencies and services, family serv- ice agencies, medical and psychiatric social service, in the visiting teachers' departments of the public schools, group work agencies, and in agencies concerned with community organization, social research and social wel- fare planning. 282 Szaculfy KLefZ to rigfatj MR.
