Dedication The staff of the 1955 THGROUGHBRED dedicates this yearbook to the Faculty Members and Employees who received the University's 25-Year Service Plaque in jtme 1955. The Plaque was first given in 1949 to everyone who had been with the University 25 years or longer. In the past seven years 109 Plaques have been given.

Never too busy to kiss the wife. Trying his hand at being chef. Our Dr. Davidson graduated from the Univer- sity of Mississippi with honors. He re- ceived his M.A. and Ph.D, from the University of Chicago. His early career included teaching in Mississippi county high schools and the University of Illinois. Before coming to the University of Louis- ville he was also head of the History Department at Agnes Scott College in Georgia and served as Dean of the Graduate School and Senior College and Provost at Vanderbilt University. Presi- dent Davidson is the author of two books, HISTORY OE GEORGIA and PROPA- GANDA AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Philgv Dmfidsm
