HILDA THRELKELD DEAN OF WOMEN . . . Dr. Hilda Threlkeld, through her warmth andiunderstanding dur- ing her twenty-three years as Dean ot Women at the University, has earned the affectionate title ot Dean T. She received her A.B. from Transylvania College, M.A. from the University ot Kentucky, Ph.D. from Columbia and an L.L.D. trom Transylvania. Membership in university and civic organizations includes: Presi- dent and Treasurer, National Association ot Deans of Women, President and Vice President, Council ot Guidance and Personnel Associations, President, Kentucky Division, American Association of University Women, President, Kentucky Association ot Deans ot Women, President, Mason County Women's Club, State Board, Kentucky Committee, National Board, Y.VV.C.A., Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Kappa Gamma, Mortar Board, Cwens, Chi Omega. Assistant to the Dean ot Women, Miss Doris Nickel, supplements her otticial duties with the multi-taceted iob ot Secretary in the Office ot the Deans ot Men and Women. Atter undergraduate work at Indiana State College, Miss Nickel received her M.A. at Indiana University. An instructor in the Secretarial Science Depart- ment at U ot L since 1947, she was appointed to her present position in June, 1953. MISS DORIS NICKEL DAVE LAWRENCE Assistant to the Dean ot Women DEAN OF MEN . . . Mr. Dave Lawrence, in his two years as Dean ot Men at the University, has become a respected campus tavorite ot all stu- dents. Through his interest in and cooperation with student groups, Dean Lawrence is an active participant in all phases of campus lite. He received his A.B. and M.A. degrees trom the University ot Kentucky where he gained honorable mention on the All-American Basketball team. During World War II, he served in the Navy. He is at present an active member in: Lions Club, Omicron Delta Kappa, National P. E. Association, State P. E. Asso- ciation and National Association of Student Personnel Adminis- trators.
