Zoreword I am the unread, the thumbed past, the hurried over; I am the Foreword. I may have a message of tremendous import, but who will know, who will scan me? It’s the principle of the thing that hurts; it’s like having to go to a party—put in your appearance—but then having no one talk to you. This is not an appeal, it is merely a statement of fact. From this situation there is one thing to be gleamed—a feeling of inde- pendence. I am free to say what I like as I am talking to myself. I want to talk about the ties that bind between city and university. The city, Louisville, and the university, the University of Louisville. The city gives, supports, and encourages the school. The school needs, accepts, appreciates, and returns manifold benefits. Around the rotunda of the Administration building is lettered, “Dedicated by the people of Louisville to the Higher Training and Useful Education of Its Aspiring Youth.” The “Youth” of the school have aspired to edit an annual which recognizes the help of these “people”.
