Students In Greece For the months of September through December, 36 qf La Verne’s students lived and studied in Athens, Greece. The experience of living in Greece, including adjustments for new money, customs, food and language can amount to quite a case of culture shock. But the experience of making new friends, living with history, accepting and being accepted by a different culture -and the opportunity to travel - more than made up for it. It unites the photography staff, the CAMPUS TIMES and the LA VERNE MAGAZINE Staffs behind a common “cause. a carefully guarded mystery to anyone who does not belong to the club. On campus the Press Club has been responsible for the following activities: a Homecoming float and queen candidate (Sylva Barsoum), several softball games and parties and even an Awards Banquet for the entire journalism department. In addition the Press Club is responsible for the monthly publication of a journalism newsletter entitled “The Deadline. Off campus the Press Club is a recognized member of the California Newspaper Association and the Associated Press Association. The La Verne College Press Club Officers are President.
