By the same token, the knowledge you have gained at the University will grow in value with the years. The primary mission of the University is to teach you to think— to have initiative and ideas—regardless of the particular profession for which you are being trained. As a thinking man o1 woman, you will have the ability to cope with both the material and the abstract, and individuals and nations rise or fall in their handling of the abstract. As a think- ing man or woman, you will not only en rich your own life with the years, but the lives of those around you. Treasure then this book and what you have learned in the period it represents.
