Composed of representa- tives from each class, the Council regulates social activities, and works to improve student welfare. CHEERLEADERS Let's go H-a-r-t-f-o-r-d! echoed through the gym this year as the cheerleaders in their scarlet and white uniforms urged the Hawks on to victory. This striking uniform coupled with vim and vigor were an excellent booster for basketball games both at home and away, Their enthusiasm for basketball has done much to spark support and interest in the games. Beecher. 1 Y ' E 1 f t f t f l HARTT COLLEGE CONCERT BAND Recognized in the past five years as one of the outstanding concert bands in the eastern part of the country, the Hartt College Concert Band aims to raise the standards of students and band performance to the highest possible quality. This year's program consisted of three home concerts, four concerts in the Hartford area, and a trip to Albany, New York. INSTITUTE OF RADIO ENGINEERS New on campus this year is the Institute of Radio Engineers. The club is a student chapter of the National Institute of Radio Engineers. Taking a break from their experi- ments with frequencies, Morse Code, and transmitters, members attended a meeting of the New England Research and Engineering Association in Boston, and the 50th Annual IRE Show at the New York Colisetun. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CLUB The International Relations Club provides an opportunity for American students to become acquainted with the ideas and customs of people from many other countries, and for foreign students to gain insight into our national traditions and way of life. Among its members are students from Israel, Greece, Italy, japan, China, Germany, South America, and the United States.
