A PHI MU ALPHA SINFONIA Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a national fraternity organized to advance the cause of music in America, foster mutual welfare and brotherhood of music students, develop a fraternal spirit among its members, and encourage loyalty to the Alma Mater. Among the activities planned this year at weekly fraternity meetings were picnics, dances, turkey raffles, a Thanksgiving Formal, bowling, basketball, a Jazz Concert, and recitals. Meetings are open to students of any denomination. Social activities of the club include bowling, volleyball, and an annual picnic. PEP BAND The University of Hartford Pep Band showed outstanding progress this year under the directorship of Bill Gravitt, a senior at the Hartt College of Music. The members of the band play for their own pleasure and also to stimulate and promote school spirit. The band has added much color this year to home basketball games, pep rallies, and various convocations held in the school.
