During the first semester members took part in the Hartford Times Carol Sing, performed at the Christmas Convocation, and sponsored their first Miss Hillyer candidate, Susan Ebb. A television per- formance, a Spring concert, and other school and community events rounded out the chorus' schedule this year. HILLYER STUDENT COUNCIL The student governing body of Hillyer Col- lege is composed of elected delegates from each of the four classes. In addition to an interest in academic and social problems of the University, the Council supervises and co-ordin- ates social affairs. The accomplishments of this year's Council are many and varied. Recogni- tion of social fraternities and sororities was achieved, the time limit between student nom- inations and elections for office was extended, and a working co-operation with the Student Life and Interest Committee was established. With an eye to the future, rules were formulated for the co-operative functioning of the three student governing bodies on the new campus along with the formation of a University Student Association. Council members also participated in the annual National Student Association Con- ference held this year at Columbia University.
